Food and Wine Conference #FWConf13 #Giveaway

June 20, 2013 By Amy Kim

FINALFW_dateHave you heard about this conference? You may recall my bringing it up a couple of times here and on Facebook. The Food and Wine Conference is happening in Orlando, Florida this summer. I’m planning to attend this inaugural conference primarily to meet my fellow #SundaySupper contributers! I have been part of this dynamic group of bloggers since my debut post on June 17, 2012 featuring bibim naeng myun.

Spearheaded by Isabel Laessig, the mission of the Sunday Supper Movement is “to bring back Sunday Supper around the family table in every home.” It is a mission that I wholeheartedly agree with and, well, just had to be a part of! Sunday Supper has grown exponentially since its inception in early 2012. Every week there is a theme where participants showcase their recipes and stories with a Tweetchat to complement every event. Through these various social media outlets, we’ve gotten to know each other very well with some relationships developing into true friendships! Most without even meeting IRL (IRL = in real life, for you newbies)!

With this tremendous growth and energy, Isabel has propelled Sunday Supper into a real life conference! The awesome Sara Moulton is headlining the conference, another reason I’m attending this conference! Cooking Live with Sara Moulton on Food Network was one of my favorite shows back when Food Network showcased more cooking than spectacle (a conversation for another time). I am also looking forward to meeting Jaden Hair of Steamy Kitchen, an über food blogger whom I have admired from afar since my early days of blogging, AND Irvin Lin of Eat the Love, a super talented photographer, writer, and designer!

It’s been one year since my first #SundaySupper post and it seems appropriate to host a giveaway. Am I right, folks? You have a chance to win ONE TICKET to the inaugural Food and Wine Conference taking place in Orlando, Florida from July 19 to 21. The giveaway will run from today through the end of the day June 26th.

To enter, simply leave me a comment below letting me know what you look forward to most during the conference.

The whole conference sounds amazing, as well as meeting all of the amazing attendees and speakers that plan to be there. I think one of the things that I’d most look forward to is the The Zen of Blogging for Business.

Yes, I’m looking forward to that workshop as well! Also looking forward to The Process of Writing a Cookbook!

I want to throw myself off a bridge for not being able to make it to the conference. Although winning the free ticket and hotel stay would help a lot, I still don’t have the extra time off from work, plus the plane ticket is too much for me right now. Waaaaaaaaaah! *stamps feet* I can’t wait to meet you and all the rest of our #SS family but it’ll have to be next year. You guys are going to have such an amazing time. And what an incredible line-up of speakers! Gah, I can’t stand it!

There is always next year! I must admit it is totally exciting to be part of the inaugural conference! I have to admit, I’m a little nervous and very excited to meet other Sunday Supper peeps in real life. And it is a great line up of speakers!

I have to say the most interesting part of the conference sounds like the information about how to make it profitable to help continue to produce quality content. The passion isnt an issue but the backing to keep it consistent and high quality is what Im curious about.
