My 7 Links – Ever Evolving

September 24, 2011 By Amy Kim 2 Comments

Marie Asselin of Food Nouveau nominated me to take part in Tripbase’s 7 Links Project.  The goal of the project is to “unite bloggers (from all sectors) in a joint endeavor to share lessons learned and create a bank of long but not forgotten blog posts that deserve to see the light of day again.”

I referred to my Google Analytics tool and was also surprised by the numbers over the past two years. It’s been a fun stroll down memory lane. Without further ado, here are my Top 7. {drumroll, please…}

Your most beautiful post

Cassoulet and Comfort was my “most beautiful” post. It was my first time using photos taken with a DSLR. I just loved the lighting in my sister’s apartment so I was able to get some beautiful shots. The table looked great and bountiful! I know it’s not about the equipment, but it was so fun to play with a “real” camera.

Your most popular post

Happy 2011!, a post that included my recipe for jap chae, received the most traffic; but my post for one of my favorite Indian dishes, You say Baingan Ka Bharta, I say Bengan Bharta, received the most comments.

Your most controversial post

The title for the post, Life Changing Risotto, made it “controversial”. I mean, when you make a claim that a dish is “life changing”, you better own up to it, especially with no accompanying photos! Nothing wrong with a little exaggeration, right? Right?

Your most helpful post

My guest post, Casual Kimchi, on Steamy Kitchen was informative and descriptive. The post also included a video that showed that making kimchi really isn’t that difficult. Go ahead, try it.

A post whose success surprised you

I. Love. Eggs. included a recipe for a simple Korean egg dish, but the response to it was surprising! It seemed that everyone who commented had a story or experience with this dish. The post also included my first video attempt which was received well and encouraged me to produce more videos.

A post you feel didn’t get the attention it deserved

While there was some traffic to the post, My Favorite Kimchi: Kaenip Kimchi, there were no comments for a while then a few trickled in. The reason I loved this post was because it was a recipe for one of my favorite dishes using one of my most favorite greens.

The post that you are most proud of

The post, I am What I Eat, was the first post where I really opened up a bit about myself and my family. It told the story of why I started this blog.

Thanks again, Marie, for nominating me to participate in Tripbase’s 7 Links Project. The bloggers I would like to see share tips and lessons learned about their blogging experience are:

  • Rachel, of Hue
  • Sommer, of Mama with Flavor
  • Lisa, of Jersey Girl Cooks
  • Heather, of Farmgirl Gourmet
  • Jennifer, of Cattywompus

Let’s pass it on!

Hello weekend! Upon the request of my dear daughte Hello weekend! Upon the request of my dear daughter, we had kimchi jigae. No tofu in the house so we made do without it and added extra pork belly. 🐷 Kimchi was perfectly ripe and I was able to use leftover galbi tang broth that I had in the freezer.
