There are so many stories and ideas that I run across when I’m cruising the vast interwebs. I typically “pin” these ideas on my Pinterest account or capture and share them on Instagram (kimchimom). But I thought I’d distill these hundreds of ideas down to my top three and share them with you every week. I will keep the words to a minimum, but hope that you find joy, humor, or inspiration in my Thursday Three!
1 – #SundaySupper
I just joined this wonderful group called Sunday Supper Movement. This movement (#SundaySupper) was started by Isabel of Family Foodie last fall and the group has been growing ever since. In a nutshell, the movement is an effort to bring the family back to the dinner table for Sunday supper. It’s something that I’ve been trying to do in my household and I just love that there is a movement dedicated to this simple notion. This past Sunday, Renee of Magnolia Days hosted #SundaySupper with the theme of celebrating family heritage. This was the post that drew me in. Join the group every Sunday at 3 p.m. EST and follow #SundaySupper on Twitter or Pinterest.
2 – The Dynamic Duo
A friend of mine, Heidi MacDowell, who is an artist, an AMAZING artist, fortunately ditched a career in architecture to pursue her passion in painting. I can go on and on about her, but it’s best if you just check out her work on her website (www.heidimatic.com). If you are lucky enough to live in the Bay Area, you can check out her work during her studio shows located in the Mission, San Francisco. Her husband, Jon McNeal, is a very awesomely talented photographer. His images of San Francisco are especially rich, stark, and stunning. We are fortunate to have his print of the Golden Gate Bridge hanging in our living room. Please visit his website (www.jonmcneal.com) and you’ll know what I’m talking about. I am saving up my pennies to buy their collections!
3 – Let’s Go Glamping!
I was first intrigued by these souped-up old-school campers when Heather over at Farmgirl Gourmet was posting awesome pictures of her own as well as her glampmates’ campers on Instagram. (She has since revived her blog dedicated to her little camper!) Then I ran across this post on the Kitchn featuring small kitchens in various campers, Airstreams, and trailers. There’s something about these compact little kitchens that make me really want to cook! Maybe it reminds me of my old New York City apartment that was outfitted with an eight (ten?) foot wide kitchen that I used to cook in all the time! Anyway, I’ll definitely go camping if it means going in one of these little babies.
So there you have it. My first Thursday Three. Let me know what you think!
