Google had everyone in a tizzy since their announcement on 3/13/13 that it was retiring Google Reader on 7/1/13. This news didn’t really ruffle any feathers here at Kimchi Mom, but I figured I would share some alternatives to Reader such as Feedly and Bloglovin. I have accounts with both services, but have not yet determined whether one is better than the other. I prefer Bloglovin’s interface just a teensy bit more, but I actually rely on iGoogle for the latest feeds of my favorite blogs. Not so fast….iGoogle is retiring on 11/1/13. 🙁
Although I rarely checked my Google Reader, my paranoia got the best of me and I just transferred all my feeds from Reader to Feedly today. It was seamless and painless. I also have an account with Bloglovin and it looks like readers are already following Kimchi Mom through Bloglovin!
Either way, I hope you keep following me! You can also find me elsewhere on the interwebs on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, G+, Pinterest, Foodie.com, and YouTube. And you can always stay updated with kimchi MOM posts by email!
Now back to our regularly scheduled programming…

I didn’t know iGoogle was also retiring! I’m thinking of going with
Feedly. A lot of people seem to recommend this service. Do you know
whether it’s possible to import all of your subscriber’s information
from feedbuner to feedly? (It’s ashame to lose the subscribers and start all over again!)
I am using Feedly and liking it for the most part but I wish your blog posts were more than just content summaries 🙁 womp womp
Oh well, love your blog regardless! Big fan! Thanks for doing what you do!
Hi Erin! Thanks for following! 🙂 Do you find it cumbersome to click to the website to read the entire post? Just curious…
Well, yeah… but I am just spoiled. What a first-world problem! Haha, ignore me. On further reflection I am sure you need to do it so your ads with generate revenue and I ::totally get that:: I will click thru regardless because I love your posts.
